Sao Nam can said one of the tops list of Vietnamese restaurants which serve truly delicious Vietnamese dishes in Kuala Lumpur, located along Tengkat Tong Shin (walking distance from Bintang Walk), it can be easily missed because of its small signage.

The restraurant interior is modern chic with some traditional elements especially with a charming wooden staircase that just looks as if it's been there for a hundred years. Vibrant colours of yellow and brown are used with revolutionary posters and a bright logo of the rising sun on the walls. The atmosphere is one that is relaxed and casual and it's more café-like rather than a restaurant.

For a truly authentic Vietnamese experience, you may starting off with the Shrimp on Sugar Cane. Minced prawns and fish paste come together and is wrapped around a sugar cane stic or juicy Beef La Lot which bursts with lemongrass flavour.

Do not miss the chance to get a hold of Sao Nam 's legendary Mangosteen and Prawn Salad, award winning and truly unique combination. Hailing from South Vietnam , this dish is a plethora of different ingredients which includes mangosteen, grated fresh coconut, dried squid flown in from Vietnam , fresh tiger prawns and many more. Such a wide variety of ingredients can only mean one thing, lots and lots of different flavours in one bite.

Portions are slightly on the small side so it is advisable to order a variety of dishes for sharing. Meanwhile, set Lunch available from Tuesday to Friday. Do remember to make reservations if you're planning to visit as lunch and dinner might get a little crowded.
